I am planning a bicycle trip going from Yorktown, VA to San Diego, CA starting August 15th. I will be going with several others that have contacted me through an ad I placed on Adventure Cycling's website. We will be camping and staying at gracious peoples homes through couchsurfing.com and warmshowers.org. It's going to be a shoestring budget trip, at least for me. Maybe the others will want to spend a bit more moolah than I will. We'll see.
No matter what, it should be an adventure, and I hope to have lots of stories to tell from it.
Right now I am still in the planning stages, which thus far has involved the following:
1. Obtaining gear
2. Keeping in contact with potential bike-riding buddies
3. Figuring out routes
4. Learning about bike repairs
5. Tinkering with bicycles
I will also be doing a short trip over Spring Break from Savannah, GA to Myrtle Beach, SC (or at least that is the plan as of now). More on that later.
Until Later,
Alison

Whats the deal?
Well, after studying in Italy for a semester and hearing how people enjoyed reading about life there, I decided to keep a blog of my travels and maybe even adventures in day to day life (although I doubt this as I am lazy and I don't think many of you will really care about the fact that I sat on my butt and did pretty much nothing today).
If you want to read about that trip, go to http://awise923.blogspot.com/
But as I enjoy traveling and intend to do as much of it as possible, I'll try to keep people informed of what's going on in my life when I'm far away.
So hopefully it will be a way for y'all to keep up with where in the world I am and give you and idea of I'm doing.
